What is the HOPE in a Box Campaign?

HOPE in a Box is our annual Christmas Campaign that reaches out to unaccompanied homeless teens at local high schools in Jefferson County, to offer them a little HOPE during the holiday season. Often times, our efforts during the holidays focus on families with small children and homeless high school teens are often the “forgotten few”. Help us show them that they are NOT forgotten.

What goes in the box?

Each shoe boxed sized gift box is beautifully wrapped and packed full of special gifts specific to high school males or females. Every HOPE box also contains a journal and inspirational card to offer HOPE in the face of trying situations.

How and where do we deliver our giftboxes?

All donations that we receive are packed carefully into shoe box sized boxes, filling them with as many gifts as possible. The final stage before wrapping is the insertion of our journals and inspiration cards as well as any other donations (food gift cards) that can still be placed in the box. Our boxes are then delivered to each high school the week of December 11th and given to the the contact school social worker or guidance counselor who oversees their homeless students. The contact person then distributes the gifts to the students before their scheduled Christmas break.
